Supporting Trade Union Learning
13 October 2025
Union Lotto is proud to continue its support for lifelong learning and trade union education through our partnership with the General Federation of Trade Unions Educational Trust.
The GFTU Educational Trust is an independent charity, established by the General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU) in 1970 to carry on the educational work of the GFTU.
It plays a vital role in providing a wide variety of exceptional learning opportunities for trade union members and the wider working class across the UK and beyond. Its programmes help strengthen the skills, confidence, and leadership of union representatives - empowering them to better support their members and shape the future of the movement.
Funds raised through Union Lotto directly contribute to the Trust’s initiatives, including:
· Development and extension of innovative pedagogical approaches to support the collective movement.
· Providing a range of face-to-face, online and blended learning within their programmes.
· Sourcing high-quality and prevalent tutors/speakers the movement has to offer.
· Adapting programme to the needs of unions and members by offering courses on topical and relevant issues.
Together, we’re helping to keep education at the heart of the trade union movement. Every ticket purchased helps sustain this important work, ensuring that generations of union members continue to benefit from quality education and professional development.
